Ronaldo’s retirement could prove short-lived
- News: Emotional Ronaldo confirms retirement
Legendary Brazilian striker Ronaldo will return to play for Corinthians, according to the club’s president Andres Sanchez.
Ronaldo, a World Cup winner with Brazil in 1994 and 2002, retired from the game three months ago and has been pursuing a new career in player management and acting.
However, ‘O Fenemeno’ is set for a shock return to the pitch and is expected to be offered a contract with Corinthians into mid-2012.
“Ronaldo is going to play again. I don’t know if he will play three, four or five games, but he will be back,” Sanchez told Lance.
The 34-year-old could be back in the side within the next few weeks and Inter and Barcelona are reported to be lined up for two lucrative friendly games provisionally scheduled for May 25 and June 2.
